Carolina Sigma III is a starship boneyard. End-of-life hulks tessellate its arid surface; its skies are a lattice of mothballed craft, antigrav drives thrown into altitude lock. Modern hypertech means that every ship here is a miracle of self-repair, guaranteed to look and act brand-new for millennia, but Progress marches on; new models roll out; and in theory, parts are reclaimed, ships are refurbed, materials recycled. In theory.
You're workers. Abandoned here, workless. A planet's worth of starships, and nowhere to go. I mean, honestly, what do they expect to happen?
